E-LIBRARY
Anywhere, at any time, on any device: Instituto Cervantes e-Library is available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, with just an internet connection.

Instituto Cervantes’ e-library is a collection of online resources and services that allow users to borrow and read digital books, listen to music and audiobooks, access electronic resources (databases, dictionaries, encyclopaedias, directories, etc.), take part in virtual book and film clubs, and much more.
To use the resources and services offered by the e-library, you must become a member via the Instituto Cervantes online shop. The annual membership fee is €20.
The Leemos a virtual reading club brings together readers from around the world to share and discuss outstanding works of Spanish and Latin American literature online, all of which are available through our e-book collection
We also offer E-LEemos: Graded Readers, a virtual reading club where participants can read and discuss Spanish-language texts adapted to different proficiency levels. Its aim is to help all learners of Spanish develop their communicative and intercultural competence and improve their language skills.
Our Mosaico virtual reading club focuses on works written in Catalan, Galician and Basque. It provides a space for cultural exchange and dialogue, where participants can enjoy and explore the literature of these three co-official languages of Spain, discover their authors, and broaden the range of literary and cultural activities we offer through our online services.
These virtual reading clubs are always supported by professional facilitators and moderators, who encourage discussion and complement the selected readings with materials and information about the context of each work and its author. Authors themselves also frequently take part in the online discussions.
There are just two requirements for joining these literary clubs: an appropriate level of Spanish and a valid membership card for our e-library or for any of the libraries in the Instituto Cervantes library network.
We encourage you to take part in the Instituto Cervantes virtual reading clubs, as explained in this brief guide If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact us
Virtual Film Club of the Instituto Cervantes Library Network
Cita con el cine is a service offered through the Instituto Cervantes eLibrary, giving you the opportunity to watch the films and documentaries featured in each programme and discuss them with people from around the world who share an interest in the art of cinema.
Its aim is to foster appreciation of Spanish and Latin American cinema, promote the work of our filmmakers, and, through the participation and moderation of directors, screenwriters, actors, critics, librarians, cultural managers, teachers and other professionals, bring the film-making process closer to the public.
There are just two requirements to take part in this space for discussion and cinematic learning: a good command of Spanish (at least B1 level) and a valid membership card from one of our libraries.
E-Library Resources
Borrow thousands of digital books on linguistics, Spanish as a Foreign Language (ELE), classic and contemporary literary works by Spanish and Latin American authors, history, art, science and much more. You will also find editions and resources for children and young adults
With this new way of reading and new titles added every day, you can discover works from more than 200 publishers worldwide, publications by Instituto Cervantes, and editions from partner organisations such as the Spanish Union of University Presses (UNE), the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM) and the publishing units of Spain’s General State Administration. You can also access magazines and audiovisual materials.
Through our digital library, you can also download audiobooks in Spanish featuring classic and contemporary authors in their original language, narrated by professional voice artists.
Audiobooks offer an alternative to conventional reading. They are digital recordings of books read aloud by a narrator, featuring a single voice and presenting the complete, unabridged text of the original work.
They are particularly useful for learning and teaching languages, developing listening skills, and enjoying literature during leisure time, while travelling on public transport or taking part in certain sporting activities. They are also especially valuable for people with visual impairments, providing access to outstanding literary works, and for children who enjoy listening to stories.
Our audiobook catalogue includes classic works, contemporary fiction, children's literature and works on philosophy and ideas. Our audiobooks are also available through the digital lending platform.
Our digital library also provides access to the many electronic journals to which Instituto Cervantes library network subscribes.
In addition to these journals on culture and applied linguistics, users can discover a wide range of multidisciplinary titles by searching across multiple databases, including Digitalia, HAPI Online and Dialnet Plus.
Among the services available to members of the Instituto Cervantes library network is free access to a wide range of databases and other high-quality specialist information resources. The full list is available in alphabetical order and by subject
