Teaching Spanish in New Delhi
Communication-centered teaching
We view teaching as a communicative, practical process centered on student learning. Our approach, aligned with the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages, fosters the development of linguistic and intercultural competencies through modern methodologies, reflection on teaching practice, and continuous teacher training.
The design of the Instituto Cervantes’ Spanish teacher training activities is grounded in a vision of the knowledge and skills a teacher requires to perform effectively as a language teaching professional. This competence is based on a complex ability to act—acquired or developed gradually by the teacher—that enables them to respond effectively to the situations encountered in their professional practice.
Each year, more than 16,000 teachers from around the world choose the Instituto Cervantes to begin or advance their training in language teaching, making it an international benchmark in the field of teaching Spanish as a foreign language (ELE).
