The courses currently available are as follows:

Conversation

CONVERSATION COURSES

The Instituto Cervantes in Dublin offers specialised conversation courses for students who wish to improve their speaking and communication skills in Spanish. These courses have two main objectives:

To enable students to communicate confidently and effectively in everyday situations they may encounter in Spanish-speaking countries and to engage in real conversations with native speakers.
To develop the level of fluency appropriate to each student's stage of language learning.

These objectives are achieved through group discussions on current affairs and topics of interest, as well as role-playing activities based on everyday situations. The courses do not focus specifically on grammar, although students will have opportunities to practise the language structures and vocabulary appropriate to their level.

No single textbook is followed. Instead, teachers use a wide variety of materials and resources, including written texts, newspapers, audio recordings and videos.

Conversation courses are offered at four levels:

Conversation A2: For students who have completed level A2.4.
Conversation B1: For students who have completed level B1.4.
Conversation B2: For students who have completed level B2.6.
Conversation C1: For students who have completed level C1.6.

If you have never studied at the Instituto Cervantes, or if more than a year has passed since your last course, you will need to take a placement test before enrolling in a conversation course.

DELE Exam Preparation Courses

The Instituto Cervantes in Dublin offers preparation courses for the DELE Spanish language diplomas.

These courses are not compulsory for registering for a DELE exam, but they are highly recommended to help students become familiar with the exam format, structure and different tasks involved in obtaining a DELE diploma.
