DELE Examination Centers

Join the international network of DELE centers

DELE examinations are administered exclusively through a network of examination centers recognized by the Instituto Cervantes. Only these centers are authorized to conduct the exams for the DELE—the official Spanish-language qualifications issued by the Spanish Ministry of Education, Vocational Training and Sports, and developed and administered on its behalf by the Instituto Cervantes.

Being part of this network allows teaching centers and educational institutions to offer the opportunity to take DELE exams, while contributing to the promotion and certification of the Spanish language on an international scale.

Currently, the network of DELE examination centers comprises more than 1,300 centers across 120 countries, with approximately 150,000 candidates taking the exams each year.

Benefits

Becoming a DELE examination center: added value for your institution

Serving as a DELE examination center allows your institution to join an international network of centers recognized by the Instituto Cervantes. It enables you to organize and manage the official examination sessions for the Diplomas of Spanish as a Foreign Language (DELE), which take place several times a year.

In addition to providing a highly valuable service to students and Spanish-language professionals, acting as an examination center offers an opportunity to enhance your institution’s prestige, expand your educational offerings, and attract new students.

Key benefits include:

  • International recognition and prestige: Being part of the Instituto Cervantes’ network of examination centers means having the backing of a world-leading institution in the promotion and teaching of the Spanish language.
  • Added value for your academic offerings: DELE diplomas are official, internationally recognized Spanish-language certifications that are highly valued by students, educators, and institutions alike.
  • New educational opportunities: Preparing students for DELE exams allows a center to expand its teaching portfolio through specialized courses, which can become a significant area of activity.
  • Attracting and retaining students: The prospect of obtaining an official certification serves as an incentive for new students and strengthens the relationship with those already enrolled at the center.

Commitments

What does it mean to be a DELE examination center?

Being a DELE examination center means becoming part of a network of centers recognized by the Instituto Cervantes to administer DELE exams, and assuming a range of responsibilities related to the organization, management, and promotion of the examination sessions.

DELE examination centers are responsible for managing and organizing the logistical and administrative aspects of the sessions in which they participate, as well as promoting the exams to potential candidates.

Furthermore, these centers provide guidance to students and must supply information regarding:

  • The most appropriate DELE exam based on the candidate’s Spanish proficiency level.
  • Free DELE preparation materials developed by the Instituto Cervantes.
  • DELE preparation courses offered by the examination center itself or by the Instituto Cervantes.

DELE examination centers authorized to administer the tests must adhere to the academic and administrative guidelines established annually by the Instituto Cervantes for the management and conduct of the exams.

However, being a DELE examination center does not entail an obligation to organize every examination session offered by the Instituto Cervantes. In general—with some exceptions—each center may choose to participate in those sessions that best align with its own needs and planning.
