WHAT IS THE DELE?

Official Spanish Language Qualification

The DELE Spanish Diplomas are official qualifications certifying your level of proficiency and command of Spanish. Awarded by Instituto Cervantes on behalf of Spain’s Ministry of Education and Vocational Training, they provide official recognition of your Spanish language skills.

What Makes the DELE Diplomas Special?

Instituto Cervantes manages every aspect of the DELE diplomas, from academic and administrative matters to financial management. All procedures are governed by Royal Decrees 1137/2002, 264/2008 and 1004/2015.

THE EXAM

What Does It Involve?

This section provides an overview of the main features and structure of the DELE examinations, including the skills assessed, the format of the tests and the requirements for each level.

The DELE examinations assess different language skills depending on the level, including reading comprehension, listening comprehension, written expression and interaction, and oral expression and interaction.

Each exam is designed according to the corresponding level of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR), ensuring a consistent and internationally recognised assessment of Spanish language proficiency.

The structure, duration and specific tasks vary according to the level of the examination.

Online Registration Procedure in Spain

Candidates wishing to take a DELE examination in Spain can complete their registration online through the official Instituto Cervantes examination portal.

During the registration process, candidates must select the examination session and level, provide the required personal information and complete payment of the corresponding registration fee.

Once registration has been completed successfully, candidates will receive confirmation and will be able to access the relevant information about their examination through their personal area.

Candidates must ensure that all personal details provided during registration are correct and match the identification document they will use on the day of the examination.
Registration is only considered complete once payment has been successfully processed. Candidates should keep the registration confirmation for future reference.
