World Flamenco Congress

A program dedicated to promoting flamenco in its broadest sense, understood not only as an artistic performance but also as a space for reflection and critical dialogue through lectures, roundtable discussions with local experts, and educational workshops.

The Congress aims to consolidate and enhance the quality of the Instituto Cervantes’ flamenco programming by bringing together emerging and established artists, dance and performance proposals, as well as themes and projects aligned with leading international festivals and major venues on the global circuit. Over the course of its editions, it has established itself as a worldwide reference point, attracting scholars, artists, and flamenco enthusiasts from every corner of the globe.

At each venue, the Congress adapts to the cultural and social characteristics of its host city, fostering a unique and enriching exchange. In addition, the Congress is committed to innovation and sustainability, incorporating new technologies and environmentally responsible practices into its organization. These efforts not only modernize the way flamenco is presented but also highlight the relevance of this art form within today’s global context.

In short, this Congress is a worldwide celebration that, through its diverse programming and inclusive approach, reaffirms the vitality and universality of flamenco, ensuring its transmission and continued evolution for new generations around the world.
