We follow the recommendations of the International Federation of Library Associations (IFLA), which can be summarized as follows:
- This service is available to any user with a valid library card.
- Users must declare that requested materials are for research or study purposes.
- The loan period is set by the lending library and is typically one month
- Service costs (fees) and loan conditions (number of items, photocopies, etc.) are determined by the supplying library.
- For loans outside the Instituto Cervantes Library Network (RBIC), all shipping and return costs must be covered by the requester.
Institutions and teachers (of Spanish or other subjects) may request guided visits for groups of students and colleagues to the library and the rest of the Instituto Cervantes facilities.
The format and content of the visit will be adapted, as far as possible, to the needs of each visiting group.
