Levels

The courses are offered at 6 levels, from A1 to C2, which are divided into modules of 30 or 60 hours. The level divisions correspond to the Common European Framework of Reference (CEFR). The CEFR aims to achieve greater uniformity and transparency among EU member states in the study of foreign languages. This serves to increase mobility among member countries, facilitate the mutual recognition of language certificates, and promote cooperation among educational institutions in different countries. The CEFR defines levels that assess linguistic ability in the areas of communicative competence, active and receptive skills, and language proficiency for specific purposes.

The number of hours planned for each level can be seen in this overview of the Spanish course curriculum. Each module (Level A1, Level A2, Level B1, Level B2, Level C1, and Level C2) contains sublevels of 30 hours each.

No prior knowledge of Spanish is required to enroll in A1.1-level courses. To enroll in courses at other levels, you must be a former student or pass the placement test.
