WHAT IS THE DELE?

Official Spanish Language Certification

DELE Spanish Diplomas are official certifications that attest to your level of proficiency and mastery of Spanish. Awarded by the Instituto Cervantes on behalf of the Spanish Ministry of Education and Vocational Training, it is the perfect way to demonstrate your skills in this language.

What makes the DELE exams special?

The Instituto Cervantes manages all aspects of the DELE exams: from academic and administrative matters to financial matters. All of this is carried out in accordance with Royal Decrees 1137/2002, 264/2008, and 1004/2015.

The DELE exams are designed to comprehensively certify your level of Spanish in contexts that are familiar to you, such as personal, public, educational, or professional settings.

The goal? To reflect how you use the language in real-life situations.

Speak Spanish your way: all varieties are welcome

Starting at the B1 level, our comprehension tests reflect the richness and diversity of Spanish, including its main varieties. In the oral exams, don’t worry about your accent or the variety of Spanish you use! All ways of expressing yourself in Spanish are equally valid and welcome.

In addition, these exams can be recorded to ensure both quality and transparency in the process.

Beginner

The A1 Level Spanish Diploma is your ticket to proving that you have the basic language skills needed to get by in Spanish. This diploma certifies that you are able to:

  • Understand and use common everyday expressions anywhere in the Spanish-speaking world, ideal for meeting immediate needs.
  • Ask for and provide basic personal information, such as details about yourself or your daily life.
  • Interact at a basic level with native speakers, provided they speak slowly and clearly and are willing to help you.

El Diploma de Español Nivel A2 avala que tienes la capacidad necesaria para desenvolverte en español en situaciones cotidianas y cercanas a tu entorno. Este diploma certifica que puedes:
  • Comprender y utilizar expresiones frecuentes relacionadas con áreas relevantes para ti, como información básica sobre ti y tu familia, compras, lugares de interés o actividades laborales.
  • Participar en intercambios comunicativos sencillos y directos, abordando temas conocidos o habituales. También puedes describir en términos básicos tu pasado y aspectos de tu entorno.
  • Satisfacer necesidades inmediatas de comunicación en contextos cotidianos.

Cómo inscribirse

Inscribirse en los exámenes DELE es un proceso sencillo, siempre que sigas las indicaciones y respetes los plazos establecidos. Puedes hacerlo de dos maneras:

  • Por Internet: Si te examinas en España (excepto niveles escolares), realiza el registro a través de este portal.
  • En el centro de examen: Si estás fuera de España o si te inscribes en los niveles escolares, formaliza el proceso en un centro reconocido por el Instituto Cervantes.
Documentación necesaria para inscribirte
Para completar tu inscripción, necesitarás un correo electrónico único y operativo y los siguientes documentos:

  • El resguardo de inscripción.

  • Pasaporte o documento oficial de identidad con foto, original.

  • Para candidatos al DELE A2 en España: TIE y pasaporte originales. Ciudadanos de la UE pueden presentar la Tarjeta de residencia de familiar de ciudadano de la UE o su documento nacional de identidad original.

  • La convocatoria de examen enviada por el centro donde te inscribiste..
