Do you want to be a Spanish teacher?
Train to become a Spanish teacher (or continue to update your skills) and improve your teaching competencies with the Instituto Cervantes, the world’s leading institution in the teaching and learning of Spanish!
The training program we are presenting is designed for teachers of second and foreign languages, as well as other professionals closely involved in language teaching and learning. The courses are grouped into five main categories:
- Initial training courses in teaching Spanish. For teachers at an early stage of their professional development or individuals who wish to begin their training. No prior knowledge is required.
- Training in teaching children and adolescents, which provides a foundation of knowledge in teaching Spanish as a foreign language to these age groups.
- DELE (Diplomas in Spanish as a Foreign Language) examiner certification courses, aimed at experienced Spanish teachers who wish to specialize in assessment.
- Formación de tutores AVE Global (Aula Virtual del Español), para docentes que desean formarse como tutores de los cursos de español por internet del Instituto Cervantes.
- Annual Training for ELE Teachers (FAP), an annual program of professional development courses covering a variety of topics of great interest to teachers.
The DELE examiner certification courses are designed for all teachers of Spanish as a foreign language who wish to train as examiners for these diplomas and/or learn more about the exam in order to better prepare their students. The DELE (Diploma in Spanish as a Foreign Language) is the only official international certification that attests to proficiency in the Spanish language and is recognized by the Spanish Ministry of Education and Vocational Training.
Those interested in enrolling in the certification courses must meet three requirements:
- Hold a bachelor’s degree or higher
- Have experience teaching Spanish
- Have completed specific training in Spanish as a foreign language
The courses are offered online by level: A (A1 and A2), B (B1 and B2), C (C1 and C2), and DELE for schoolchildren (A1-A2/B1).
Participants will become familiar with the levels of the Common European Framework of Reference and the Cervantes Institute’s Curriculum, analyze the structure of the exams, learn test administration protocols, become familiar with the grading criteria for the oral exam based on standardized samples, and grade additional exams.
