Catalan, Galician, and Basque courses
Spain is a country where, alongside Castilian or Spanish, other languages coexist, such as Catalan, Basque, and Galician. The Instituto Cervantes considers this fact to be one of Spain’s greatest cultural assets and, for this reason, promotes the study and dissemination of these languages by organizing courses upon demand.
About the courses
An in-person Catalan course for beginners that will help you discover this language spoken by more than 10 million people. The course will provide you with an introduction to the Catalan language, focusing on the four language skills: speaking and interaction, listening comprehension, writing, and written interaction. The course content and exercises will be tailored to everyday communication needs to support your personal development within the Catalan context.
Get ready for the Camino de Santiago with this course, where you’ll learn the fundamentals of the Galician language at a communicative level. Galician is the native language of Galicia, where it is an official language alongside Spanish. It is spoken by more than 3 million people and is a Romance language closely related to Portuguese.
An introductory course to the unique and ancient Basque language and culture. This course will provide you with the basics of spoken and written Basque, enabling you to engage in simple interactions, and will introduce you to the main characteristics of traditional Basque culture (folklore, sports, rural life) and modern Basque culture (literature, film, music).
