We offer general Spanish courses, both online and face‑to‑face, designed to develop students’ ability to understand, speak, read and write in Spanish.

We have qualified, expert teachers who use the most up‑to‑date methods in foreign language teaching. In addition, to ensure effective teaching, all our teachers undertake ongoing professional development.

We offer courses at all levels (from beginner to advanced), and our communicative approach allows students to improve their skills gradually and effectively.

Spain is a country where, alongside Castilian or Spanish, other languages coexist, such as Catalan, Basque and Galician. The Instituto Cervantes considers this to be one of Spain’s main cultural riches and therefore promotes the study and dissemination of these languages by organising courses according to demand.

Gabriela Mistral Library

The library of the Instituto Cervantes in Sydney is named after Gabriela Mistral, the Chilean poet, educator and diplomat who was awarded the Nobel Prize in Literature in 1945. A key figure in Latin American literature and the first Latin American woman to receive these honours, she is distinguished by her profound human dimension and strong commitment to education and culture.
