Passing the CCSE test is a requirement for obtaining Spanish nationality in certain cases.
The selection of teachers of Spanish as a foreign language for Instituto Cervantes centres abroad is carried out through a public call for applications, published via the Instituto Cervantes Electronic Office or the Instituto Cervantes Electronic Office or the General Access Point of the General State Administration.
The selection process consists of three stages: assessment of merits, written test and interview. To successfully complete the selection process, candidates must meet the requirements set out in each call for applications. The Instituto Cervantes has published a syllabus outlining the knowledge required for candidates to become teachers at the Instituto Cervantes.
The Instituto Cervantes Teaching Accreditation Diplomas (DADIC) are the professional accreditation system for the qualifications of Spanish as a foreign language (ELE) teachers.
The first professional accreditation presented is the Instituto Cervantes Teaching Accreditation Diploma DADIC Autónomo: the diploma that certifies that the teacher has the basic competencies required for the professional practice of teaching Spanish as a foreign language (ELE) for general purposes.
To obtain the DADIC Autónomo diploma, candidates must pass two examinations, which are administered at Instituto Cervantes centres with accredited examiners.
The Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) of the Council of Europe is the international standard that defines language proficiency — in reading, writing, listening and speaking — in a foreign language. It is used worldwide to describe learners’ language skills on a scale of levels from A1, basic level, to C2, for those who have mastered the language to an exceptional degree.
The certifications administered and the training provided by the Instituto Cervantes are based on the CEFR, reflecting the reference levels established by its Curriculum plan.
AVE Global are the Instituto Cervantes’ online Spanish courses, developed in line with the levels of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR), from level A1 to C1.
It consists of a total of 16 courses and 48 modules, supported by teaching materials, videos and interactive exercises. Through these, learners can study Spanish online, regardless of their device, in an effective and engaging way—either independently or, if they prefer, with the support of a tutor.
